A unique collaboration between pop and fashion icon Grace Jones and groundbreaking light artist Chris Levine, 'Stillness at the Speed of Light' is an immersive, incredible exhibition curated by The Vinyl Factory at our Soho gallery in Poland Street, London,  from April 30th until May 14th 2010.

Chris Levine is a unique artist with a rare sensibility for the use of light. Renowned for his 3D and still images of HRH Queen Elizabeth II, he has now gone on to create a series of stunning 3D holographic portraits of legend Grace Jones. 'Stillness at the Speed of Light' will showcase the extraordinary alchemy between this iconic figure and leading cutting-edge artist.

Grace Jones' great gift in identifying zeitgeist artists such as Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Jean Paul Goude and Eiko Ishioka, continues with this new and exciting collaboration with acclaimed light artist Chris Levine.

Grace Jones and Chris Levine were introduced by Philip Treacy, who was art directing Grace’s first live band show in over a decade at the Royal Festival Hall in 2008. The inventive collaboration between these two highly original, creative characters blossomed, and Jones soon asked Levine to devise a ‘stand-out’ laser show for her tour.  The results were breathtaking. Audiences were left stunned as a high-beam laser shone directly onto Grace’s self-designed Swarovski crystal bowler hat, showering the entire audience in shards of light.

Although probably best known for his stunning 3D portraits of iconic figures, Levine is also involved in major light installation projects and has worked with some of the most dynamic creative brands and institutions.
