“Adored by everyone from lovers of 4/4 floor-quakers to the quirkiest exponents of dubstep…. if you like the idea of Grace Jones's My Jamaican Guy at the Paradise Garage with added Chicagoan propulsion, you'll love Tensnake.”
Band Of The Day, Guardian.co.uk
“Playlisted on BBC Radio 1, featured in The Guardian and NME, festival darling, Ibiza darling, North American tour, Tensnake has become a reference point for dance floor smiles and sing-alongs, good vibrations which have evidently earned him some karma points.”

He gave us the biggest underground crossover dance tune of 2010 in 'Coma Cat', a killer DJ compilation and a string of critically acclaimed remixes for Aloe Blacc, Hercules And Love Affair and Azari & III alike. And now Tensnake arrives with this beautiful limited edition release.
Meticulously hand-crafted by the world-renowned Dutch design company Droog for the German electronic musician, this hand-numbered edition is a unique music product that celebrates his unique sound.
Born in 1975 and raised on a diet of disco, soul, boogie and funk, Marco Niemerski started his musical journey listening to pop stars like Simple Minds and Duran Duran on the radio. “I grew up in the suburbs where there was nothing to do except listen to music so the radio was the most exciting thing around me. But my older brother was into D*Train, Shalamar, Raura and other boogie stuff. I was maybe ten – there it is again! But later I listened to everything. When I was 16, I would drive my Vespa and listening to stuff like The Who and The Small Faces, the UK sound. But then I came back to electronic music…”
But where did the music come from? Well, it was while working at a music promotion company called Public Propaganda that Marco started producing. His first purchases were a Yamaha SY85 and a Roland Juno 106. “It was the first step towards something and I tried to recreate the sound I liked – that’s how it always starts." Ever the perfectionist, Marco made music as a hobby for several summer seasons. “Many years later, I started the Mirau label with two friends,” he says. "The first record was ‘Around The House’ was a part of The Restless EP, the third Mirau release. “I did it in one night and it felt like a lucky strike. But in 2006 , I was surrounded by the minimal sound and it was so boring. I was inspired by Metro Area who included tiny disco sounds and combined that with house music – that’s what kept drawing me back."
Since then he's never looked back and thanks to 'Coma Cat' and a killer live show that showcases his distinctive sound, 2010 was a major turning point career-wise for Tensnake. Fast-forward one year and he's ready for the next step. As a live artist, Tensnake wanted to follow his Defected - In The House DJ mix with a unique live offering and a new single, the as-yet unreleased fan favourite from his show, ‘Something About You’, which is where the Tensnake Live + limited edition comes in.
